Superior performance RF absorber for low frequency applications

LS Series Overview

The 1.0 to 4.0 GHz band sits at the dense intersection of 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, cellular LTE Bands 1-7, GPS L1, and the bottom of 5G FR1 mid-band deployments. It’s also where most cavity resonance problems live in modern electronics. Board-level shield enclosures with internal dimensions of 2 to 4 inches resonate naturally in this range. Standard broadband absorbers spread their loss across too wide a frequency window to deliver meaningful peak attenuation here. The LS Series uses iron-loaded silicone with a loading level tuned specifically for L-band and lower S-band performance, delivering higher peak attenuation in the 1 to 4 GHz window than a general-purpose broadband material would.

The LS Series is most commonly deployed inside consumer electronics enclosures with cellular and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi radios, telecommunications infrastructure including small cells and access points, GPS module shielding, and industrial controls operating in unlicensed ISM bands. It is particularly effective for lining shield can interiors and reducing component-to-component coupling on densely packed PCBs.

The LS Series is available in seven thicknesses from 0.040″ to 0.125″, giving engineers tight control over the low-frequency rolloff. Thicker variants extend performance further into the 1 GHz region. Thinner variants suit applications where space inside the cavity is limited. The LS Series is a fixed loading level formulation; customization options include thickness selection and in-house die-cutting for direct integration into shield assemblies. Standard PSA backing is available across all thicknesses.
