The AF Series Broadband Foam 1.000″ thick RF absorber trades loss per inch for depth in the 3PB Solutions line of carbon-loaded polyurethane foam absorbers. The homogeneous carbon loading attenuates electromagnetic energy through dielectric loss as the wave passes through the foam volume, providing broadband absorption from 1.0 to 40.0 GHz with no conductive backing required.

At 1.000″ thick with a 450 loading level, this material delivers -45 dB/in insertion loss at 10 GHz through a full inch of absorbing volume. The lighter loading also improves the impedance match at the front face, so more energy enters the material instead of reflecting off it, which is exactly what low-frequency absorption needs. It is the right choice when problems live in the low single-digit gigahertz and moderate depth is available. When space is tighter, step down to the 0.500″ option; when the problem sits at the very bottom of the band, the 2.000″ option reaches lowest of all.
